The Korean group chose this neutral name so as not to imply the gender of the members. Singer Yeawon says the name has no deeper meaning, and she doesn’t even like rum. The main inspiration was the Australian band Rumjacks.
Rumkicks are known for their edgy look that goes hand in hand with their punk aesthetic, as well as their socially conscious lyrics and rebelliousness. They have toured the UK, US, Europe, China and Japan.
